I show the position of where I got out of my ricksha. I saw the accused go up Wardley Street between the Bank and the City Hall followed by Captain Morgan they were the distance apart which I have already described. I am sure I did not lose sight of the Chinaman from the time I got out of my ricksha, I saw them both go up Wardley Street between the Bank and the City Hall and I am aure I did not lose sight of him until he ran into Pereira'a

Clerk in International Bank. On 24th February I was going from the Bank to Butterfield & Swire. When I reached Wardley Street Isaw a man running up towards me. I heard some one on the tram line calling "hold him" in Chinese. I stodd round the corner of Queen's Road near the Bank. As soon as a man came towards me I knocked him down. I struck him on the face and he fell. I grabbed hold of him. As soon as he went down I held him. He struggled a little. He stood up arain and fell down again in Queen's Road. I held on to him the whole time. Mr.Yvanovitch came to my assistance. That is he in Court. We held him for 2 or 3 seconds and we handed him over to a Chinese Constable. Mr. Green came up. The man I stopped is the man I saw running up towards me, I saw nobody run- ning up the street in front of him. He was the only man running in Wardley Street. There was a crowd on the tram line. I did not see anybody following this man in Wardley Street. He was 5 yards down Wardley Street when I first saw him. I put myself out of sight by the Bank corner in Queen's Road. When the man appeared I hit him. I did not see any other Chinese running at all. I did not see any Chinese running in the space by the City Hall or on the steps

going up.
